We want to put together on the same panel different representatives of independent digital music distribution companies and see which is their approach to commercialize music video in the new digital environment.
Today no music release is possible without a music video coming along. However, even if the video is not just a complementary part of the release process, the creators still might receive a tiny income from it. The recent law on article 13 in the EU tried to solve “the ValueGap issue” that affects YouTube and the User Generated Content (UGC) and is now concerning the music industry and creators.

Many companies of DD try to find a strategic solution in order to capitalize this content, meanwhile, the Trade Association and the international organization of independents are lobbying in order to have a more fair legacy around the value gap.
